MP3 player thief jailed three years.

Tarkwa, Aug. 20, GNA – A Tarkwa Circuit court has jailed Abudu Razak, a 19-year-old unemployed to three years imprisonment for stealing.

He pleaded not guilty.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Florence Tawiah told the court presided over by Mr Samuel O. Diawoo that the complainant in the case was Telemacus Arthur, a taxi driver and resident of Tamso, a suburb of Tarkwa.

He said on August 9 this year, at about 2000 hours, the complainant parked his vehicle in the car owner’s residence and went home but returned the following day to discover that an MP3 player and 60 Ghana cedis which were in the cab had been stolen, and that one of the side doors of the car had been tampered with.

The prosecutor said the complainant went to the Tarkwa Railway Station to look for another MP3 player to buy and was presented with his own player by the accused.

Inspector Tawiah said the accused offered to sell the player for 20 Ghana cedis but the complainant agreed to pay 10 Ghana cedis and in the process, the Police was alerted and Razak was arrested.
