Koforidua, Aug 17, GNA – Deputy Commissioner of Police Moses Ninson, the Eastern Regional Police Commander, has said the Police Administration would be strict in the conduct of promotion examinations to ensure that hardworking officers got recognition.
He said the wrong impression by some officers that they would pay bribe to enable them pass the examination was a thing of the past since the administration’s resolve for discipline was not negotiable.
Mr Ninson, who was addressing a month’s refresher course for over 800 Chief Inspectors in the region for an entry examination to the police college, said the administration had put in place measures to prevent leakages associated with the conduct of the examination.
He told the participants that the essence of the examination for entry to the police college was not to punish or deter others from going but to equip them with knowledge and ideas to be abreast with policing in a democratic environment according to international policing standards.
Chief Inspector Nketia Yeboah, the regional police public affairs officer who is part of the course, thanked the regional commander for the advice and assured him that they would learn hard to be able to enter the police college.
