Upper West NPP congratulates delegates

Wa, Aug. 11, GNA – The Upper West Regional Executive Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has congratulated delegates, who voted in the party’ presidential primaries last Saturday for the peaceful and orderly manner they conducted themselves.

A statement issued by the NPP Regional Secretary, Mr Stephen Kojo Engmen, on Wednesday also expressed gratefulness to the agents of the various Presidential Aspirants for the support and cooperation given to the Regional and Constituency Election Committees

“This singular act culminated in demonstrating to all Ghanaians and the whole world that internal democracy has come to stay in the party”, the statement said.

The Regional Executive appealed to all supporters of the party to leave the acrimonies of the campaign behind and forge unity for the greater task ahead of them in 2012.

They commended the officials of the Electoral Commission in the region for conducting the elections according to the rules and guidelines stipulated by the party and promised to continue to cooperate with the Commission in the 2012 elections.

The statement, in addition thanked the Ghana Police Service for guaranteeing peace at all polling centres and the media for the role they played in facilitating and educating the public on the exercise.
