Council offers land for University

The Bechem Traditional Council has offered a large track of land for the establishment of a proposed University by the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in the area.

Nana Oduro Sarfo Kantanka II, Gyaasehene of Bechem, said this at the 18th annual Delegate’s Conference and thanksgiving service of the Brong Ahafo Presbyterian Men’s Fellowship at Bechem in the Tano District.

The theme for the conference was “Let my people move forward”. In a sermon, Reverend Dr Amoah Kumah, Chairman of the Presbytery urged the Fellowship and the church to map out strategies that would help make life meaningful for members.

He mentioned the setting up of an educational fund for the needy but brilliant children, institution of health insurance scheme and special youth education programmes as some of the areas the church could consider.

Members from 32 branches of the Fellowship in the Region attended the conference. An appeal for fund yielded 4.2 million cedis.
