Woman found murdered at Nwoaso

Atronie (B/A), July 29, GNA – The police in Sunyani are investigating the murder of a 35-year-old female trader at Nwoaso, a farming community near Atronie in Sunyani municipality on Tuesday.

The body of Patricia Acheampomaa Donko, who sold in farm produce, was found in a pool of blood behind a plantain tree with deep cutlass wounds on her skull, the nose and left palm.

Chief Superintendent of Police Charles Botwe, the Sunyani Municipal Police Commander, told newsmen on Wednesday that the Assembly Member for Atronie electoral area, Mr. Bossman Donkor, reported to the police he had received a message from Nwoaso that a woman had been murdered.

He said on their way to the village they spotted a mesh, a sack and a piece of cloth soiled with blood as well as a loaf of bread and basket by the road side.

“Looking around the scene the police detected that there had been a struggle”, Chief Superintendent Botwe said, adding there were also blood stains scattered around the place.

This raised police suspicion and during a search they came across the body of the deceased.
