One thousand, eight hundred and sixty-nine in voluntary AIDS test

Ajumako (C/R), July 14, GNA – Thirty-three people out of 1,869 who voluntarily for the HIV/AIDS test were positive.

The victims comprise 11 men and 22 women and have been referred to Breman-Asikuma Catholic Hospital for special attention.

The voluntary AIDS test was organized by the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District Directorate of the Ghana Health Service with sponsorship from Plan-Ghana, a non-governmental organisation between June 22 and July 10.

Madam Esther Amankwah, Deputy Director in charge of the programme, told the Ghana News Agency that the programme is still on-going and appealed to people to have the test to know their status.

She commended Plan-Ghana for providing GH¢400.00 to support the programme.
