Government presents vehicles to Regional Directors of Social Welfare

Accra, July 6, GNA – Government on Tuesday presented 10 Toyota pick- ups estimated at about GH¢649,450 to Regional Directors of the Department o f Social Welfare in Accra. Mr Enoch Teye Mensah, Minister of Employment and Social Welfare presenting keys to the vehicles to the Directors, said the vehicles were solely financed by government, as a moral booster to them in the performa nce of their duties. He explained that the presentation was part of government’s commitme nt towards the implementation of the National Social Protection Agenda. Mr Mensah urged the beneficiaries to use the vehicles judiciously fo r the intended purpose, adding regular maintenance and servicing was vital. Mrs Nancy Dzah, Chief Director at the Ministry who received the keys on behalf of the beneficiaries, said the vehicles would make them mobile and

improve performance. She expressed gratitude to all who worked hard to make the presentat ion possible and urged the beneficiaries to take good care of the vehicles, t o qualify them for more assistance from the government. 6 July 10
