Mills appoints a task force to deal with flood victims

Accra, June 24, GNA – President John Evans Atta Mills has appointed Commodore Steve Obimpeh (rtd), Senior Presidential Advisor, as Chairman of an 11-member Task Force to come up with recommendations beyond the immediate support from NADMO, for victims of the recent floods. A statement issued from the Office of the President and signed by Mr Koku Anyidoho, Head of Communications, on Thursday said it was expected to submit its report by July, 9.

Other members of the task force are: Mr Joseph Nii Laryea Afotey-Agbo, Minister of State at the Presidency; Nii Armah Ashietey, Greater Accra Regional Minister; Madam Ama Benyiwa-Doe, Central Regional Minister; Mr Joe Gidisu, Minister of Roads and Highways and Mr Alban S.K. Bagbin, Minster of Water Resources Works and Housing.

The rest are Mr Joseph Yieleh Chireh, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development; Mr Martin Amidu, Minister of the Interior; Mr Fiifi Kwetey, Deputy Finance Minister; Mr Kosivi Degbor, National Security and Mr Kofi Portuphy, National Coordinator of NADMO. 24 June 10
