Ministry of Education delegation returns from China

Accra, June 9, GNA – A two-member delegation of the Ministry of Education has returned from the People’s Republic of China after attendin g a workshop at the invitation of the Chinese Government. The four-week intensive training in the Chinese language and culture

was attended by 41 government officials from 17 developing countries including Ghana.

The programme, which was sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of Ch ina was on the theme: “Enhancing Regional Cooperation for Economic and Trade” .. Ms. Susie Afua Kotoku, Assistant Public Affairs Officer of the Ghana

National Association of Teachers (GNAT), who led the delegation, told GNA

that the workshop was aimed at enhancing the Chinese government’s cooperation with developing countries. She said that as part of the workshop, delegates were sent to severa l tourist areas to enable them to appreciate the culture of the people of China. “We also visited the world acclaimed tourism sites, including the To wer of Heaven, the Forbidden City, the Great Hall, the Xian Province and Wuha

city”, Ms. Kotoku said.
