Vice President attends Franco-African summit

Nice, May 31, GNA – Vice President John Dramani Mahama, on Sunday arrived in the Riviera City of Nice in France to attend a two-day bi-annual Franco-African summit.

The summit, which would be attended by more than 40 African leaders, would among other issues regarding governance, economic and trade partnership, conflict and remedies and investment potentials in African. The event will create a platform for developed countries to partner France to identify investment opportunities in African countries. It will also pave the way for member countries of the European Union to invest in areas of their interest in Africa.

The summit, which was initially started with French speaking countries in Africa and France in 1973, since 1983 to date include English, Spanish and Portuguese speaking African countries.

Vice President Mahama is expected to hold bilateral talks with investors from other parts of the world.
