Government appoints new Administrator of District Assemblies Common Fund

Accra, May 26, GNA – President John Evans Atta Mills in consultation

with Council of State has nominated Mr David Adom as the new Administrato r of District Assemblies Common Fund (DCAF).

Mr Adom, former Commissioner of Internal Revenue Service (IRS) succe eds Mr Joshua Magnus Nicol, whose tenure of office has ended. Mrs Joyce Bamford-Addo, Speaker of Parliament, on Wednesday conveyed th e message from President Mills to Parliament at the opening session of its second meeting for the year. The session, which commenced on Wednesday, May 26, would end on Jul y 23, after a 10-week period. She said the nomination was subject to vetting and referred it to t he Parliamentary Appointment Committee. Mrs Bamford-Addo commended members for their commitment to the business of the House especially the recent emergency sittings. She announced that renovation works and re-roofing of the chamber w as on-going. Mrs Bamford-Addo noted that much was expected from members and urge d them to speed up with business in the House and wished them a fruitful deliberation. A nine-member delegation from Zambia visited the House. 26 May 10
