Ophelia Koomson confirmed as Birim Central MCE

Akim Oda, April 30, GNA – The Birim Central Municipal Assembly, on Friday confirmed Ms. Ophelia Koomson as Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area. She had 39 out of 44 votes cast, representing 88.6 per cent, with five of the members voting against her. Ms Koomson, who was the only female among 21 persons nominated as District and Municipal Chief Executives in the Eastern Region by the President last year, was the only nominee rejected by the Assembly when she failed to get 50 per cent of the votes cast. She was re-nominated by the President. 30 April 10
