Teachers express displeasure over unhonoured allowances

Accra, April 29, GNA – The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GN= AT) and the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) have express displeasure at the failure of Government to honour the agreement for allowances signed last year. A statement from the two bodies and copied to the Ghana News agency said: “We are displeased with the lukewarm attitude of government in meet= ing the unions to effect the agreement.”

The statement said, “We are informing our rank and file nationwide to= be on standby for the outcome of a meeting scheduled for Friday, April 30 at=

the instance of the Minister of Employment and Social Welfare in Accra.” The statement was jointly signed by Mr Angel Carbonu, Vice President of NAGRAT and Mr John K. Nyoagbe, Deputy General Secretary of GNAT. 29 April 10
