Government declares Monday May 3 statutory public holiday

Accra, April 27, GNA – President John Evans Atta Mills, has by Executive Instrument, declared Monday May 3, a statutory public holiday. A statement signed by Mr Martin A. B. K. Amidu, Minister of the Interior and copied to the Ghana News Agency said the day was declared a holiday in view of the fact that May 1, which marks May Day is a statutory public holiday and falls on a Saturday.

It asked the public to observe the day as such throughout the country.
