Speaker of Parliament leads delegation to Czech Republic

Accra, April 26, GNA – Mrs Joyce Bamford-Addo, the Speaker of Parliament, is leading a 10-member Parliamentary delegation on a four-day visit to Prague, Czech Republic.

This is the Speaker’s first official trip since she was elected in January, 2009.

A statement issued in Accra on Monday and signed by Ms Kate Addo, Deputy Director of Public Affairs, Parliament House, said the visit at the invitation of Czech Parliament would afford the delegation an opportunity to explore ways to strengthen parliamentary democracy between the two countries.

It said during a visit by a parliamentary delegation to Ghana last year, members expressed the Czech Government’s intention to assist in environmental protection, agro-processing as well as training of Ghanaian military personnel for peacekeeping.
