Kumasi, April 7, GNA – A leading member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Gado Sulemana, has called for calm among the party’s youth saying, they should avoid acts that could wreck the party’s chances of retaining political power in 2012. He said told them not to send wrong signals that could create image problems for the party and make it “difficult to sell in the next polls.” Alhaji Gado was speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi on Wednesday.
He was reacting to recent growing public condemnation and outrage at the unruly conduct of some youth groups of the party, reported to have chased out staff of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and threatened some Government appointees. Alhaji Gado said in as much as all members and supporters could freely raise concern about anything they found wrong about the Mills’ Administration, this should be done, using more refined and acceptable approach.
He also advised government officials, particularly District Chief Executives, to open their doors to the party’s youth. They should tear down barriers that make it hard for members of the NDC to gain access to their office. 7 April 10
