NDC/NPP youth clash at Sankore

Goaso (B/A), March 22, GNA – A violent confrontation between the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and New Patriotic Party (NPP) at Sankore in the Asunafo South District of the Brong Ahafo Region, at the weekend left three persons sustaining serious injuries. The NDC youth allegedly attacked the victims with cutlasses, sticks and other offensive implements without provocation. No arrest has been made, while the injured persons are responding to treatment at Sankore Health Centre.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Kofi Amemo, District Police Commander, told newsmen at Kukuom that his personnel have mounted an intensive search to bring the perpetrators to book. Meanwhile the Member of Parliament for the area, Mr George Yaw Boakye has appealed to the National Security Council to as matter of urgency deploy enough security personnel in the area to maintain peace and order. 22 March 10
