Rain storm renders people of Buffiama homeless

Buffiama (UW), March 17, GNA – About 250 people have been rendered homeless, following the destruction of 25 buildings, including a health post, by a rain storm that hit Buffiama in Wa East District in the Upper West Region.

Mr. Kparibogo Widuma, Chairman of the Development Committee of the town, organized the people to retrieve valuable materials from collapsed buildings to prevent looting.

He said some displaced persons took refuge at the school buildings while others were lodging with relatives. Mr. Widuma said most of the victims had started reconstructing their=

buildings and appealed to the District Assembly, individuals and organizations to assist them with roofing sheets.
