Asantehene Leaves for UK today

Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II who cancelled his trip to the United stated of America and United Kingdom because of the Accra stadium disaster is now scheduled to travel abroad tonight on an investment promotion tour.

The Asantehene is expected to receive honorary Doctorate degrees from three universities in recognition of his efforts to promote education and development in Ghana.

The institutions are University of Maryland and the Savannah State University both in United State and the Glasgow University in the United Kingdom. At a farewell meeting at Manhyia palace in Kumasi yesterday, Otumfuo Osei Tutu said he rescheduled his trip because of the stadium disaster in which 126 people lost their lives.

The Asantehene would be accompanied by a 10 member delegation including Nana Otuo Sirebour II, Juabenhene and Nana Akuoko arpong, Agogohene.
