Prince Naruhito lays wreaths and plants a tree at Nkrumah Mausoleum

Accra, March 8, GNA – Prince Naruhito, Japanese Crown Prince on Monday laid two wreaths on the tombs of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s First President and his wife Fathia Nkrumah at the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum in Accra.

Prince Naruhito who is currently on a three-day visit to Ghana, was accompanied by Mrs. Zita Okaikoi, Minister of Tourism. He also planted what was described as “Tree of Life” at the Nkrumah Park and toured the museum.

Prince Naruhito is expected to hold bilateral talks with President John Evans Atta Mills at the Castle, Osu, visit the Noguchi Laboratory at Korle-Bu-Teaching Hospital and Mary Star of the Sea International School at Kasoa in the Central Region.

He would meet Japanese residents in Ghana and Ghanaian beneficiaries of Japanese scholarships.
