Mr Peter Ala Adjetey, Speaker of Parliament stressed the need for the business community in Ghana to establish and develop trade and commerce relations with Brazil.
He said Brazil has a well-developed business environment, which Ghana could take advantage of through the exchange of ideas on intra-nation trade relations.
Mr Adjetey made the observation when the Brazilian Ambassador to Ghana, Mr Paulo Americo Wolowski paid a courtesy call on him at his office.
He said Ghana is committed to establishing and developing inter-parliamentary relations with other friendly countries and for exchange of visits to learn from each other’s experiences.
Mr Adjetey said Ghana is blessed with many crops, which need technological support for their processing and marketing.
Mr Wolowski said Brazil was committed to continuing with its friendly relations with Ghana and other West African countries.
He called for frequent interactions between the two countries to ensure the success of the South-South Co-operation and to develop the already cordial relations.
Mr Freddie Blay, First Deputy Speaker said Ghana is rich in natural resources and tourism potentials, which the Brazilian community could help to exploit and develop for the socio-economic development of the country.
Mr Ken Dzirasah, Second Deputy Speaker, said it was about time Ghana took advantage of pursuing the benefits of the South-South co-operation since Brazil plays an important role in the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
He commended the ambassador for the visit, saying that it is the first time that a Brazilian ambassador has had time to interact with the Parliament of Ghana to share ideas, which would open the chapter for more fruitful discussions.
