National House of Chiefs sympathises with the Rawlingses

Accra, Feb. 18, GNA – The National House of Chiefs has sent a letter of consolation to former President Jerry John Rawlings and his wife following last Sunday’s fire that gutted their Ridge residence in Accra. The letter signed by Wulugu Naba Pugansoa, Naa Prof. John S. Nabila, President of the House, said the chiefs had learnt with shock the fire outbreak that devastated their home and belongings. “On behalf of the National House of Chiefs, I extend to you, the former First Lady, your children and the entire household our sincere sympathies for this unfortunate incident.”

The letter said the chiefs were grateful to God that all the people who were in the house at that time were safe. “Our prayer is that the Good Lord will continue to protect you and your entire family and restore all that you have lost,” the letter added.
