Two in court for stealing electricity poles

Bibiani (WR), Feb. 16, GNA – The circuit court at Bibiani, has gran= ted GH¢7,000 bail each to two men, who

allegedly stole 20 high tension electricity poles meant for Sefwi-Muoho community in the Western Region. Emmanuel Kwarteng, 43, and Prince Annor, alias “D.O”, 40, who pleade= d not guilty would re-appear at

court on Tuesday February 23. The court presided over by Mr Emmanuel Ankamah ordered the Police to=

arrest for prosecution the person

who bought the poles.

Police Detective Chief Inspector Alex Asamoah told the court that electricity poles were jointly purchased

by the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai District Assembly and the Member of Parliament for the area for distribution

to some communities, including Sefwi Muoho. He said without the knowledge of the assembly member and the chief, the accused persons took delivery of

20 electricity poles meant for Sefwi-Muoho and sold them at GH¢3,000 at=

Sefwi-Bekwai.
