Ghanaians urged to support government for development

Accra, Jan. 24, GNA – Apostle Daniel Paul Agbeteye, National Director of Evangelism of the Apostolic Church, Ghana, on Sunday called on Ghanaians to rally behind President John Evans Atta Mills’ Government to ensure the socio-economic advancement of the country.

He said as the elections were over there was the need for all to support the government to achieve its better Ghana agenda. Apostle Agbeteye made the call at the end of a 21-day Prayer Session of the Osu District of the church.

The session, which was under the theme; “Renew Our Days as of Old” was aimed at building the capacity of the participants both physically and spiritually to enable them to face the challenges ahead. It was also aimed at strengthening the already existing cordial relationship between the members of the church. Apostle Agbeteye, also the Church’s Cape Coast Area Superintendent, called for a non-partisan support for the government since Ghanaians did not have any other nation other than Ghana.

He said Ghanaians were one people with a common destiny which made it necessary for them to “push the government and the country forward”. Apostle Abgeteye asked Christians to put their trust in God to solve the problems confronting the country.

The Reverend Seth Osae Opare, Osu District Head of the church, asked the youth to desist from the ‘Get-rich-quick’ attitude and to study the word of God to enable them to live lives worthy of emulation. He said as future leaders, they should be imbibed with the spirit of nationalism to guarantee the future development of the country. Rev. Opare advised them to be selfless and dedicated to the course of making the country the “Black Star of Africa”. 24 Jan. 10
