Police arrest criminals in Operation Father Christmas

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A), Jan. 14, GNA – A circuit court at Dormaa-Ahenkro in the Brong Ahafo Region has remanded into prison custody 11 persons for possessing dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

They are Obeng Otis, Razak Oniah, Oppong Gyan Ernest, Kwabena Paul, Gyabaa Gordon, Ansu Gyamfi Emmanuel, Yaw Ayitinga, Lamini Kone, Sule Kone and Kwabena Mensah Mohammed.

Six of them would re-appear before the court on January 18 while the rest would reappear on January 21. Chief Inspector Matthew Yeboah told the court presided by Justice Isaac Bright Akwantey that the suspects were grabbed by the Police at various hide-outs in Dormaa-Ahenkro, Amasu, Wamfie and Gonokrom with the dried leaves concealed on their bodies, during the Christmas celebrations.
