Court remands man for snatching bag

Akim Oda (E/R), Jan 11, GNA – A magistrate’s court at Akim Oda, has remanded Salua Abudusalam in Police custody for snatching a handbag containing a Nokia phone, necklace and GH(150.00 belonging to a seamstress. Abudusalam, 21, who pleaded not guilty to stealing would reappear at court on January 21, attacked Madam Philomena Ampofoa, the seamstress, and her apprentices. Police Inspector Kwaku Appiah told the court presided over by Albert Owusu Annor that on December 12, last year, at about 2300 hours, while the seamstress and the apprentices were working at the shop, Abudusalam and others now at large, stormed the complainant’s shop and committed the offence. Prosecution said the accused was arrested by Police patrol team for loitering around the Town View Night Club at Akim Oda on December 13 at about 0020 hours. Insp. Appiah said that at about 1200 hours the same day, Madam Ampofoa went to the Police station and identified Abudusalam as the man who attacked her and snatched the bag containing money and necklace. 11 Jan 2010
