Islamic society lauded MP for Ellembelle

Kamgbunli (W/R), Jan. 05, GNA – The Islamic community in the Ellembelle district of the Western Region has commended the Deputy Minister for Energy and MP for Ellembelle, Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, for the accelerated development of the area.

The community also lauded the immense contribution of the MP towards the activities of Muslims and the sustenance of peace among religious groups in the district.

To this end, the community honoured the MP with the title,”Alhaji Hafiz”.

These were expressed at a thansgiving service to mark a successsful hajj by two Imams of the community, Alhaji Muhammed Abubakar and Alhaji Yunus Ibrahim, at Kangbunli.

The Imams took turns to express their profound gratitude to the MP and the NDC government for the successful Hajj trip this year, and assured him of their unflinching support.

For his part, Mr. Buah called for religious tolerance and peaceful co-existence among religious bodies in the country. He noted that the dominance of the NDC in Islamic communities in his constituency amply demonstrate that the religion, like the NDC, stands for peace.

The MP said 20,000 Ghana Cedis of his common fund had been devoted to the Ellembelle Health Development Fund to cater for the health care needs of the people.

He said 30,000 Ghana Cedis had been alloted to the education sector, adding that 50% of the District Assembly’s budget would be devoted to tackle problems in the education sector this year.

Mr. Buah said plans are far advanced for schools in the area to be connected to electricity to enhance teaching and learning in the district, and charged parents to support the education of their wards.
