Christians usher in New Year with church services

Accra, Jan. 1, GNA – Christians in Ghana ushered in the New Year with watch-night church services during which they prayed, sang and danced to the glory of God for His enduring mercies that have brought peace to the country.

At the Ghana Police Church, near the Licensing Office in Accra, the congregation sang and danced for more than 20 minutes at the dawn of the New Year.

The Very Reverend Dr J.M.Y. Edusa-Eyison urged Christians to have faith in Christ, be ready to sacrifice, forgive those who have wronged them and to love one another.

He said it was only when Christians forgave those who have wronged them would they also be forgiven of their sins and asked Ghanaians to work harder in the New Year to bring about the needed socio-economic development of the country.
