Christians urged to put their trust only in God in the New Year

Accra, Jan. 1, GNA- Christians have been called upon to believe in God and put their trust in Him only, as this is the only way by which they could experience His blessings in the New Year.

“As Christians we should endeavour to always trust in God and be more prayerful when trials and temptations come our way, since God has promised to be always by us through thick and thin”, The Reverend George Arhin, Senior Pastor, Exhibition Assemblies of God, said. Delivering a sermon to usher in the New Year on Friday, he urged Christians to eschew sin saying it was the only thing that separated them from the love of God. Preaching from Psalm 40: 13-17, he urged Christians to always go to God in prayer when faced with temptations and trials, and when there seemed to be no escape.

“Christians should know that God sometimes allows us to go through certain trials and temptations for our own good. Trials and temptations are God’s ways of strengthening us in the faith,” he said. The Reverend Arhin who is also the President of the Greater Accra Regional Pastors of Assemblies of God churches, urged Christians to have great expectations this year since God was going to do great and mighty things.
