Akyeremade (Ash), Dec. 29, GNA – Dr Kojo Appiah-Kubi, Member of Parliament for Atwima-Kwanwoma, has advised members and the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to remain focused and work hard to strengthen the internal structures of the Party.
He said they should avoid factionalism, hero-worshipping and arrogance and make sure that the Party’s principles were upheld at all levels. He said it was by so doing that the NPP would become better positioned to wrest power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2012 general elections.
Dr Appiah-Kubi was addressing a political forum held by the Kwawoma-Akyeremade-Behinase Ward to take stock of their activities during the year at Akyeremade near Kumasi.
The NPP, he said, stood a good chance of forming the next government considering the bad governance of the NDC and its failed policies that had worsened the economic situation of the people.
Dr Appiah-Kubi said one year into the Mills Administration had left no doubt that the NDC had nothing good to offer.
The bad economic policies forced down on the people, the unjustified dismissals and nepotism would only lead the country to soaring poverty and hardship, he added.
Mr Martin Larbi, NPP Ward Co-ordinator, said the forum formed part of programmes planned to get the Party’s message across to voters. He said they had embarked on a comprehensive membership drive to win more supporters not just to retain the Atwima-Kwanwoma Constituency seat but to significantly reduce the number of votes for their opponents in 2012.
