NPP Constituency Chairman calls for party unity

Old Tafo (E/R), Dec. 26, GNA – The Abuakwa North Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Douglas Asare has called for unity within the ranks of the party to ensure victory in the 2012 general election.

Mr Asare was speaking after he and other constituency executives, were elected unopposed at the party’s delegates conference at Old Tafo on Saturday. He called on members of the party in the constituency to put the past behind them and contribute their quota to move the NPP forward as it prepares towards the next national elections.

At the end of nominations of the party, only Mr Asare had filed his nomination to contest as chairman, Mr Oheneba Ofori Atta Opoku for the position of First Vice-chairman, Mr Ernest Asare Acheampong, Second Vice-chairman, Mr Charles K. Appiah, Secretary, Mr Alhassan Suleiman, Assistant Secretary and Mr Kwaku Oduro Asare, Organiser. Others include; Ms Mary Aduako Ayamerah, Women Organiser and Mrs Doris A Sarpong

as Treasurer. It was only the position of youth organiser that Mr Joseph Asare Bediako and Mr Festus

Opoku Acheampong filed to contest. However Mr Acheampong stepped down for Mr Bediako to be elected unopposed.
