Minister appeals to Assembly Members to help increase IGF

Winneba, (C/R), Dec. 19, GNA – Mrs Ama Benyewa-Doe, Central Regional Minister, has appealed to Assembly Members in the region to work hard to increase their Internally Generation Fund (IGF) to support their Common Fund.

She said they were the highest decision making body and therefore stressed the need for them to mobilize resources around to improve the living standards of their people.

Mrs Benyewa-Doe made the appeal when she addressed the Effutu Municipal Assembly and Heads of Department and Institutions at Winneba on Friday, as part of her familiarization tour of the region.

She was accompanied by Mr Kwame Oppong, Central Regional Co-ordinating Director, and regional heads of department and institutions. Mrs Benyewa-Doe said government had acquired a patrol boat for effective patrol duties on the sea to check pair-trawling in the region. Mr Nii Ephraim, Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, thanked the government for approving an amount of 80,000.00 Ghana cedis for the rehabilitation of roads in the municipality.

The Minister and her entourage later paid a courtesy call on the Omanhene of the Effutu Traditional Area, Neenyi Ghartey VII and his sub chiefs at his palace. 19 Dec. 09
