NDC supporters urged to forge ahead in unity

Accra, Dec. 15, GNA – A 9-member newly elected executives of the Ledzokuku constituency of the National Democratic congress (NDC) have been sworn in with a call on the supporters to forge ahead in unity to move the NDC towards achieving its developmental goals.

Mr Nii Armaah Ashietey, Greater Accra Regional Minister, who made the call, also reminded the NDC supporters that strengthening the organizational capabilities of the party was critical to winning the 2012 elections. “I am confident that after this election both winners and losers have join hands in unity to advance the principles and ideals of our party”. Nii Ashietey commended the delegates for their sense of maturity and urged the supporters to support the newly elected executives to enable them to work towards the 2012 general elections effectively. Mr Sam Bonney Quist polled 150 votes to become the new constituency chairman out of 236 votes cast, while Mr Benjamin Ayiku polled 171 votes to emerge as Vice Chairman out of 235 votes casts.

Mr Joseph Mensah and Kwame George emerged as the secretary and deputy respectively; While Eric Larry Laryea emerged as the organizer with Samuel Odoom, as the deputy organizer. Others elected are Mr Charles Mensah, treasurer and Mama Martei as deputy treasurer while Mr Jacob Ladzekpo was elected propaganda secretary. Eight other executives who were co-opted into the executive were Mr Seth Bedzrah, Samuel Ago, Abdul Aziz, Abdulai Alhassan, Miss Julian Anan, Ishmeal Adu and Samuel Dorhetso.

Mr Nii Nortey Dua, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports as well as Mr Danny Annan and Mr Jerry Thompson, NDC Regional chairman and organizer respectively graced the occasion. 15 Dec. 09
