Two killed and seven injured at Gomoa Budumburam

Gomoa Budumburam (C/R), Dec. 14, GNA – Two people from the Gomoa Budumburam Refugee Camp were killed on the spot and seven others injured when a Cesspit tanker from the Camp ran into a group of people at the roa= d side at Budumburam on Monday.

A spokesman for the Awutu Beraku police told the Ghana News Agency t= hat the tanker was moving from the camp to enter the main Winneba/Accra road while the tipper truck was also heading towards Winneba. The police said the two vehicles collided on the main road and the tanker later run into a group of people standing at the roadside near a filling station waiting for transport.

He said the two persons were killed on the stop and injured the seve= n persons believed to be refugees from the camp The spokesman said the drivers of two vehicles believed to have escape= d unhurt are on the run and the police have mounted a search for them. The injured have been taken to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
