Court convicts four grave diggers

Assin Foso (C/R), Dec. 7, GNA – The Foso District Magistrates court has fined four grave diggers GHc180 for looting the local cemetery and making away with human parts. In default, Isaac Markpordo, Isaac Appiah, Michael Odwin and Frank Boafo would spend 15 months in prison.

The court presided over by Mr Joseph Blay ordered the convicts to pay a compensation of GHc150 each to the families of the people whose bodies were exhumed. Mr Blay said he gave the convicts minor sentences because they were first.

Prosecuting Police Inspector Oppon Dei told the court that the grave diggers were arrested on October 15 with their booty.
