Pastor sues Kumasi Mail for defamation

Kumasi, Nov. 10, GNA – The Reverend Dr Kojo Osei-Wusuh, Senior Pastor of the Grace Baptist Church (GBC) at Amakom in Kumasi, has filed a suit at a Kumasi High Court against the editor and publishers of Kumasi Mail, a weekly newspaper in Kumasi.

The paper is said to have published on its front page of August 24, 2009, a story in which the Senior Pastor is alleged to have swindled the wife of his late brother of a house and bank account.

Rev. Dr. Osei-Wush has, however, denied the allegations. When the case was called on Tuesday, November 10, this year, Mr Prince Hagan, Chief Executive of New Era Press, publishers of the paper and his counsel Miss Ernestina Abraham, were present in court. However, counsel for the plaintiff, Mr Kwame Boafo and the editor of the paper Mr Yaw Boateng were absent.

The Court presided over by Mr Justice Gyinae, therefore, adjourned the case to December 10, this year for hearing.
