Nkawkaw Constituency NDC holds delegates conference

Nkawkaw, Nov. 7, GNA – The Nkawkaw Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), on Friday elected a 22-member executive to steer the affairs of the party for the next four years, at a delegate’s conference at Nkawkaw.

The Executive included Mr Francis Oppong, Chairman, Richard Ansong, Vice Chairman, Mr Isaac Kofi, Secretary, while Mr Emmanuel Attipoe and Mr Samuel Twumasi, were elected Assistant Secretary and Treasurer respectively. The rest are Mr Samuel Kwasi Agyei, organizer, Alhaji Alhassan Eddi, Deputy Organizer, while the position of Propaganda Secretary went to Mr Abubakari Braimah, with Madam Abena Joyce and Darlas Williams elected as Women and Youth Organizers respectively.

Addressing the conference, the Eastern Regional Organizer of the party, Mr Bismark Tawiah Boateng, advised supporters of the party, to avoid back biting and gossiping, but unite and support the Municipal Chief Executive to implement government policies and programmes to develop the constituency. He said those negative practices would not augur well for the party and must therefore be stopped in the interest of party unity and cohesion. Mr Boateng said the results of the election was a victory for democracy and not for the individual contestants, and advised both winners and losers to unite and intensify their campaign to win the 2012 elections. The Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Alex Somuah Obeng, advised supporters of the party to bury their differences and unite and mobilize more people to join the party to win the constituency parliamentary seat in the next election. 06 Nov. 09
