London Homowo 2009

Gadangmebii in London celebrated their annual Homowo festival which was organize by La kpee at the Tottenham Green leisure centre on Saturday the 26 September 2009 This year’s event was attended by over five hundred (500) people including Mantsemei, manyemei and wulomei from Ga (Accra)

Nii Ashaley Asuku head of sempe Tete Kpeshi we and Naa Aforkor Omedro,Katamansu ta huu manye who reside in London welcome the following Mantsemei & Manyemei from Ga to the festival. Nii Otu Akwetey 1X Katamansu Mantse, Nii Oblimpong Ankrah- head of mantse Ankrah Royal Family, Nuumo Gbelenfo-Osu Gua Wulomo, Naa Ameley Opeku Obloni 111- Osu Adjumaku and Osu Ashante Asofoanye and Nana Kyerewah Amponsah-Queenmother of Kwadaso.

In his welcoming address Nii Abeka Gogo- chairman of La kpee in London assured the gathering that they are well in contact with La traditional Council in Accra in settling all problems which have cause the people in La in celebrating the annual festival for many years. He said once the problem is solve we will see La mantse in next year’s celebration.

The acting Ghana High Commissioner to the UK Mr Quansah and Mr Ramses Cleland were also at the festival In his address Mr Cleland ask all Ghanaians living in the UK to rally behind the present government in power to achieve their promises before the end of their four years term Nuumo Gbelenfo as usual performs all the customs and end up with the sprinkling of kpokpoi with dancing.

Eating and dancing started from 22:00 to 01:30 with DJ Alordia giving his best of music to grace the occasion MC for the night was Bishop T from Hot Digital Radio Nii Yartey of GFM Radio broadcast the event live to the whole world
