NDC Candidate wins Chereponi by-election

Chereponi, Sept. 30, GNA – The National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Samuel Abdulai Jabanyete was on Tuesday declared winner in the Chereponi Constituency by-election held on Tuesday, September 29. Mr. Jabanyete polled 8,239 votes representing 51.25 per cent of the votes cast to defeat Mr. Abubakari Aminu Gariba of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who had 7,416 votes.

Ms. Jabali Namana of PNC had 176 votes, followed by Mr. Issah Yaw of the New Vision Party (NVP) who had 139 votes; Ms. Eliasu Fati of the Democratic People’s Party (DPP) had 106 votes. Mr. Jbenyowu Alex Wada, Returning Officer for Chereponi Constituency who announced the results said total votes cast was 16,186 representing 71.28 per cent of the voter turn out. 30 Sept. 09
