Food vendors told to maintain good hygiene

Kumasi, Sept 21, GNA – Dr Samuel Adubofour, the Vice President of the Christian Service University College (CSUC), has appealed to food vendors to maintain high standards of personal and environmental hygiene to promote good health of food consumers.

Inaugurating a 25,000-dollar cafeteria built for the college in Kumasi through contributions by students and other stakeholders he said premium must be put on public safety and health.

Dubbed “Family Friends” its services are not restricted to only the university community but also opened to the public. Dr. Adubofour said food sellers should not just be interested in the money they make but they should equally be curious about the food’s wholesomeness.

He said the decision to provide the cafeteria was to ensure that the students are fed on wholesome meals and urged the operators not to compromise safety. Mr. Agyemang Duah, Director of the Kumasi Catering Services, the managers, thanked the College for offering the company the opportunity to serve the community. 21 Sept 09
