Ghanaians asked to be patient with government

Ampia Ajumako (C/R), Sept. 12, GNA – The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam, Mr Peter Light Koomson has assured Ghanaians that the government of Professor Evans Atta Mills would not be insensitive to their calls and demands. He has therefore urged them to be patient with the government and allow it to deliver on his promises within the stipulated four-year mandate.

Mr Koomson who gave the advised at the annual Akwambo festival of the chiefs and people of Ampia Ajumako, said the government is just eight months in office.

“It is therefore unfair for some section of the people to embark on demonstration like “Medofo Adaa da me”.

The DCE appealed to chiefs to make land available to the youth for farming activities under the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP). He advised the youth to embrace the Agriculture sector on the NYEP, adding that produce from their farms would readily be purchased to support the school feeding programme.

On the falling standard of education, the DCE blamed parents for failing to provide their children with the necessary learning and teaching material and also to support teachers to give off their best. He urged both teachers and parents to do their best to reverse this trend to enable schools in the district to turn out more scholars to enhance its development.
