Government urged to provide assembly members with motorbikes

Nkoranza (B/A) Sept. 8, GNA – Mr. Thomas Owusu-Ansah, Assembly Member for Sessiman Electoral Area in Nkoranza South District, has appealed to government to provide assembly members with motorbikes to facilitate their movement. He told GNA that assembly members could not interact with the people properly to find out their challenges because the members lacked means of transport.

Mr Owusu-Ansah stressed that some of the members were staying in settler farming communities that were inaccessible by vehicles and motorbikes, preventing them from reaching out to the people frequently. He said asked the NDC government to revisit the proposal by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development during the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration, towards the provision of means of transport for Assembly Members. Nana Thomas Sarkodie Baffo, Assembly Member, also urged government to consider providing means of transport for assembly members.
