Need to encourage early childhood education – Mrs Boya

Accra, Sept. 7, GNA – Mrs Hawawu Gariba Boya, Deputy Minister of Women and Children Affairs, last week-end said early childhood education was a priority agenda of the Ministry. She noted that early childhood education provided better education background to the pupils, instilled confidence in them to develop their potentials.

Mrs Boya announced this at the 20th anniversary celebration and graduation of Mays Day Care and Educational centre in Accra. She said education played a significant role in the upbringing of children because they spent most of their time at school. Mrs Boya appealed to parents to visit their children regularly at school to establish a good rapport between their teachers to enable them to evaluate the performance of their children. She advised the children to take their studies serious to be successful in life.

Mrs Boya expressed government’s appreciation to the role of the private sector in education especially childhood care and development. However, she appealed to the proprietors to refrain from acts that were detrimental to the development of education in the country. Mrs Efua Bram-Larbi, Director of the school advised the graduates to promote the image of the school. 7 Sept. 09
