Contractors of School Feeding Programme asked to re-apply

Kumasi, Aug. 27, GNA – The Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council has directed all contractors and caterers involved in the School Feeding Programme in the region to re-apply to their districts. This is part of measures to bring sanity into the feeding programme and end the practice where some contractors controlled more than five schools.

This was contained in a statement signed by Mr. Ernest Brogya Genfi, Public Relations Officer of the council, in Kumasi on Wednesday. It said persons who are not caterers would not be entertained in the programme in order that the school children would be provided with delicious and healthy food.

“We are interested in caterers who will be in the kitchen to cook or supervise cooking,” the statement said. It said contractors or caterers who fail to comply with this directive and subsequent authorization did so at their own risk.
