MP inspected projects in his constituency

Aiyinase (W/R), Aug. 20, GNA – Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, Deputy Minister for Energy and Member of Parliament for Ellembelle, has urged district assemblies to award contracts to contractors with good track records in their districts. This, he said would ensure that quality work is carried out in the districts.

The Minister made the suggestion in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Aiyinase as part of his 10-day inspection tour of on-going projects in his constituency. Some of the project sites visited included the Aiyinase water project, Information Communication Technology and community Centres, and tarring of the Teleku-Bokazo-Asasetre road. He said if a contractor is not well known to the district assembly, it is sometime very difficult to trace him when he abandons a project.

The Minister cited an example of a six classroom block at Awiebo, which has been abandoned by the contractor and he cannot be located. At Asasetre the MP urged Justmoh Construction Limited, engaged in the tarring of the Teleku-Bokazo-Asasetre road, to do quality work to ensure a longer life span for the road.
