Stolen electricity meter denied school of ICT education

Yaakrom (B/A), Aug. 7 GNA – The disappearance of Roman Catholic Primary School electricity meter at Yaakrom in Dormaa Municipality in Brong Ahafo, has halted the introduction of ICT education in that school.

Speaking with the Ghana News Agency on Friday, Mr Sampson Yeboah, Head teacher of the school said, the meter with serial number 261082311, was detected missing in February this year.

He said the school desiring to offer lessons in ICT to its pupils, used part of its Capitation Grant to purchase a desk-top computer, but they had not been able to use it because of lack of the electricity. “.our excitement was cut short as no sooner had we purchased the computer then some miscreants came to remove the meter thus turning the opportunity for the pupils to learn ICT into mirage,” the head teacher said.

Mr Yeboah said the theft was reported to the Catholic Church at Nkrankwanta parish and the Yaakrom Assembly but no arrest has been made so far. 7 Aug. 09
