Re-Bury SMC Army Officers

The widows of seven army officers of the erstwhile Supreme Military Council (SMC) II and the widow of the late General Afrifa who were executed in 1979 have petitioned the government to exhume the mortal remains of their late husbands for re-burial.

The petition stated that, the retrieval of the bodies would afford the bereaved families an opportunity to accord decent burials to their husbands and help ease the extreme agony suffered over the last two decades.

The widows, who signed the petition are Emily Victoria Akuffo, Christiana Afrifa, Faustina Acheampong, Beatrice Boakye, Justine Utuka, Felicia Amedume and Rama Felli. Minerva Kotei signed on behalf of the children of the Late General Kotei.
