Police Commander Cautions against multiple land sale.

Kasoa (C/R), July 23, GNA – The Kasoa district Police Command has called for collaboration between chiefs, family members and land owners in the sale of lands to avoid multiple land deals in the area. The District Police commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jordan Quaye, who made the call in a press statement issued in Winneba on Wednesday, said cases involving the multiple sale of land were becoming rampant in the area.

DSP Quaye said the command had noticed that most cases concerning assault and other forms of criminal activities were actually reprisals or ripple effects from land disputes.

“The Command has also identified that when a piece of land is purchased and not developed by the buyer for a long time, land sale agents resell that plot, thus creating a problem between the original buyer and the new one.”

The police Commander said the relatives of some chiefs in Kasoa who did not enjoy the proceeds of land sales re-sold lands already leased out by the chiefs, thus bringing misunderstanding between the two buyers.

He, therefore, appealed to chiefs to ensure that their relatives did not sign land documents, as the situation was doing more harm than good. The Police Commander appealed to prospective land developers to conduct investigations on lands offered for sale before purchasing them to prevent troubles.
