Supporters of political parties urged to be law-abiding

Accra, July 6, GNA – Reverend Henry Nunoo-Lartey, Mamprobi District Head of the Divine Healer’s Church, has underscored the need for leaders of the various political parties to advise their supporters to go about their activities within the confines of the law. He said when this is done political activities in the country would be devoid of the rancour, acrimony and tension, which normally characterized them.

Rev. Nunoo-Lartey made the call when he interacted with newsmen at the church headquarters at Korle-Gonno in Accra at the weekend. He urged Ghanaians to put aside their party affiliations and remain united to develop the nation. The District Head also advised politicians, especially those in the minority to offer constructive criticisms that would put government on its toes.

He urged Christians to lead upright and morally good lives worthy of emulation and asked them not to indulge in materialism but rather seek after spiritual things. Pastor Samuel Quaye, Resident Pastor at the headquarters branch of the church, bemoaned what he described as “the get-rich attitude” among some Ghanaians especially the youth. Pastor Quaye, therefore, urged the youth to be industrious and hardworking by engaging in profitable and viable ventures since in his view “the devil finds work for the idle hands.” He asked Ghanaians to see themselves as one people with a common destiny, and therefore do away with divisive tendencies. Pastor Stephen Attiogbe, Assistant Pastor, advised Christians to focus their minds on the word of God and to remain united in order to continue to grow in the word.
