Social Celebration Day Unity and hard work would ensure development – DCE
Mampong (Ash), June 2, GNA – Mr. Daniel Ocheamang, Asante-Mampong Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has called for unity, hard work and cooperation among residents and the Assembly, to enable development thrive in the Municipality.
He said this at a feast to honour about 300 senior citizens in the Municipality at Mampong, to commemorate the 49the Republic Day celebration in the area on Wednesday.
The MCE regretted that Senior citizens in the area have not been honoured for quite some time, and assured them that it would become an annual event.
Mr. Ocheamang further called on them to rally behind the government and offer their services to the Assembly to ensure rapid development of the area.
Mr. Stephen Asamoah, Presiding Member (PM) of the Assembly, called on the senior citizens to share their rich advice and experience with the youth, so that they would live upright lifestyles. Some of the senior citizens in an open forum assured the MCE of their support and advice, and called on him to help renovate the roads in the villages and help bring drastic development to the area. The occasion was characterized with dancing to old time tunes and gifts were presented to the senior citizens.
